Understanding the reasons why children looked-after may struggle with toileting.

In this MyST training session we will be looking at the emotional reasons why young people might have difficulties related to toileting, and how we can respond in ways which support our young people. We will also be thinking about the impact young people’s toileting difficulties has for us as carers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop a definition of toileting difficulties and recognise how it can present in young people.
  • Understand the reasons young people in foster care may struggle with toileting from a psychological perspective.

Learn and practice ways we can respond to and care for

  • young people around their toileting.

Reflect on the impact of toileting difficulties on us.
