Among those celebrated were Sharon-Ann, who received a special recognition award for caring for young people with complex needs through times of crisis and trauma. Sharon-Ann, who has been fostering for 12 years has recently became a MyST Therapeutic Foster Carer, “I’m very grateful to have been nominated. It was lovely to come together with other carers and be recognised for the time and care we’ve given to children when they’ve needed it most. “Although it’s challenging, the rewards are great and seeing the positive outcomes in the children are really the drivers for us as foster carers. They become part of our family.”
